VISUAL IMPACT

Since my last blog calling for beauty packaging reduction. Countless emails poured in for those of you who are marketing experts. This section is a follow-up to the packaging reduction blog.

I know the current economy call for a greater level of visual impact on the shelf to attract people who are tight with their wallets. I understand the importance to have a packaging carton that communicates with consumers and help the product stand out from the competition. But I feel the same can be achieved by thinking outside of the box. Why not focus on the label design on the bottle, add a jewel, a bow and a ribbon on the bottle instead of using a packaging carton. Why not focus on the quality of the formula and not the visual impact. We can seek different techniques and technology that can generate unique looks and ideas for visual impact. There are so many avenues we can take to reduce and help our planet.

The focus on packaging carton reduction saves money, energy consumption, and most importantly trees. Overall, better for the environment.

The consumers of today have learned to appreciate recycle, reuse and reduce. It's the beauty industy that's behind the times.
